2021 Program Report

Facebook/instagram

While other social media channels are attracting a younger following, Facebook and Instagram remain very popular, especially among post-adolescent women. In 2020, the largest group having abortions was 25-29. In 2021, 73,000 women watched more than a quarter of our 2-minute, monthly, video ads for local centers.

Social media generates awareness

Women want to know whom they can trust. They don't want to feel judged or pressured. They go from our social media ads to the centers' websites, to get to know the people who want to help them, as well as what they offer.

Paid google ads for those searching

We bid on abortion keywords, so that search results for the pro-life centers show up when women are looking for an abortion. Women will call, fill out a form, text or e-mail, in order to contact their local center.

We help women find help "organically"

Making pro-life, pregnancy medical centers easier to find online means that many more women end up contacting them. By optimizing websites and doing other SEO work, we raise the position of the centers in the ranking of "organic" search results (as opposed to the paid search results). Our organic results appeared 534,435 times in 2021.

Advertising will still be needed

The reality is that not a lot will change if the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision is reversed in May 2022. If anything, more pregnancy help will be needed, and more advertising, to direct women away from "self-managed" abortion (the use of chemical abortifacients, widely available now on the Internet). Our advertising will still be needed to save moms and babies from abortion. Please donate today!

Former Executive Director of The Hope Pregnancy Center Praises Vision for Life

Marlene Downing, former Executive Director of our partner in Philadelphia, tells us how our advertising plays a life-saving role.

I have to write to you about the amazing benefit of having Vision For Life on our team. Thank you for all of the thought, strategy, and finances designed to save lives. You are truly making a difference. Our call volume and contacts have soared to new heights because of your efforts.

One evening, months ago, I received an after hour call for the HOPE Pregnancy Center as I was driving to the market with my daughter.

I picked up the phone and on the other end was a young lady who advised me that she deeply regretted her decision to abort her child. She explained that she went to Planned  Parenthood  to get a chemically induced abortion.

The normal procedure for this type of abortion is to have the mother take the first pill in the office, and four other pills at home. The first pill is designed to weaken the baby to prepare for the other pills that break the baby down and ultimately abort the baby. Many women have regrets after taking that first pill. What some are not aware of is it may not be too late.

It is amazing that doctors can prescribe medication that will save the life of the unborn child. This treatment, using progesterone, is not 100 percent [effective] but it is known to be at least 60 percent effective within a 72-hour time frame. [It has been shown to be effective in 64-68 percent of cases, and to have no harmful effects on mother or child.]

The young woman who contacted us stated that she found us on the Internet. I believe that it was an ad created by Vision for Life. I immediately gave her the abortion pill reversal hotline, also known as abortionpillreversal.com. Then I advised the young woman to call me after she had spoken with a doctor.

Time went by. I unpacked the groceries and realized that I had not received a call yet. When I called back, the young woman was at the hospital in the emergency room. I asked what happened. She said that she had a peanut allergy, so they directed her to a hospital, to see if they would administer an injection instead of the reversal pill, which she might be allergic to.

I advised the young woman to contact me if the hospital was not willing to help. I didn't hear back, so I called again a half hour later. She stated that the hospital would not give her the injection. I contacted my friend, Dr. Ruberu, who is also an abortion-pill-reversal provider. She has helped me with two other "saves," or reversals, at HOPE. Both of them were 100 percent effective.
She answered her phone. By this time, it was late, well after 8 o'clock. I connected the young woman with her. That evening Dr. Ruberu agreed to drive to her office to help save a life.

Interactions and support have not ended with this young woman. She had her first ultrasound with HOPE; the heartbeat was strong! She later found out that she was having a girl. HOPE hosted a baby shower. She was not allowed to stay at her home when her mother found out that she was pregnant. HOPE found her a maternity home to stay at.

We talk often about the baby, and in the back of my mind I always think  several questions:

What if Dr. Ruberu never met her at the office that evening?

What if I had never followed up while she was at the emergency room? Would she have gone home empty and defeated?

What if I had never answered the call after hours?

What if she had never changed her mind?

What if Vision for Life had never assisted with The HOPE Pregnancy Center on their ad campaign?

It takes all of that to save one life, because every life is precious and valuable.

Thank you for your Vision for Life, for all that you have done!

OUR ADS APPEAR ON THE SCREENS OF OVER 90,000 women in PHiladelphia County

From February 1 to 24, 2021, Facebook ads for two Philadelphia pregnancy medical centers have appeared two times or more on the screens of 90,320 women 18-30 in Philadelphia County.

They have generated 269 "unique outbound clicks," that is, clicks from unique women on the link to the websites of AlphaCare and The Hope Pregnancy Center. These numbers have increased over previous months.

In both Pittsburgh and in Philadelphia, 4.7% of the audience watched 10 seconds or more of the video. In Philadelphia, 517 watched 75% of the video.

Vision for Life has outsized impact, Amy Scheuring of Women's Choice Network says

Vision for Life expands adertising to Philadelphia

In late 2020, Vision for Life began greatly increased advertising in Philadelphia County, where 40% of PA's 30,000 abortions are performed, and home to Kermit Gosnell's "House of Horrors." Beginning in January 2021, we are advertising AlphaCare (situated next door to Gosnell's infamous abortion/infanticide center) and The Hope Pregnancy Center. We estimate that, from 2011 to 2019 inclusive, our advertising has saved 9,600 babies from abortion. If we had the same rate of success in Philadelphia County, that would be over 16,000 babies in a similar period.
